Sound the klaxon.
We raised a whopping £9,385.10 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Thank you to each and every one of you who donated. This includes Integrity Print who generously donated our programme printing costs.
The money will go a long way to ensuring that teenagers in the South West don’t have to face cancer alone. You can watch some of the ways the money can transform young people’s treatment experiences by watching Ruby’s story below:
Fundraising has already begun for 2022 and we want to see if we can beat this total. As a start, we’re asking if you’d like to donate £1.50 when you buy your ticket.
Why do we always support a cancer charity?
You might wonder why we always do this.
Luke Hasell set up the festival in 2014 in honour of his parents who both died within a short time of each other. Having farmed for generations, they cared enormously for the land and community surrounding it. Their spirit and joie de vivre runs deeply through the festival.
Much of the drive to run the festival comes from the fund raising opportunity it creates. Luke’s mother Sandra Hasell very sadly died of ovarian cancer. She had so much energy and a huge love of life – just like Luke. That is why Valley Fest wants to support teenagers through a cancer diagnosis, so that they have the best chance of thriving.
Autumn acoustic playlist
The trees will soon begin to change colour. And knitwear, crumbles and cosy drinks will reign supreme. As the leaves fall and the temperatures drop, nature reminds us at every turn, there’s a time to reap, a time to sow and a little time to just be slow.
When the clocks go back and the nights draw in, we hope the slowness of nature’s activities gives you permission to slow down too. Here’s a selection of songs to accompany you into Autumn.
The C word
It may be too early to mention Christmas. So ignore this if so. However, if you’re always open to ideas for your family, then a “something to look forward to” experience may be just the ticket! We’ll give you more details about our offer in next month’s update, along with some line up news!
